Getting Started
Spots. is a personal place-saving app. It's your private inbox for places you discover on social media, from friends, or anywhere else — so you never lose track of somewhere you want to go.
No. Spots. works entirely without an account or sign-in. Just download and start saving.
Completely. All your data is stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to any server. Feather Studio has no access to your spots, visits, or any personal information.
Adding Spots
Tap the search bar at the top of the List tab and type a place name. Results from Apple Maps will appear — tap one to add it. You can also add spots directly from the Map tab.
Yes — use the share button in any app and select Spots. from the share sheet. It appears when sharing a web link or URL. A mini sheet will open where you can confirm the place name and search Apple Maps before saving.
Yes. Tap the search bar and type the place name. At the bottom of the results you'll see "Add manually" — tap it to enter a name, search for an address, or drop a pin on the map directly.
Want — somewhere you'd like to go. Been — somewhere you've visited. Love — a favourite you'd go back to. Skip — somewhere you've been but wouldn't return to.
Ratings let you give a spot 1–5 stars. They're personal — use them however makes sense to you. You can filter your spots by rating from the filter sheet.
Organising
Lists let you group spots however you like — by trip, neighbourhood, occasion, or anything else. A spot can belong to multiple lists. Create and manage lists from Profile → Lists & Tags.
Tags are freeform labels you add to individual spots. Type a tag directly in the spot detail view. Great for things like #patio, #datenight, or #weekend. Manage tags from Profile → Lists & Tags.
Use the filter pills at the bottom of the List and Map tabs to quickly filter by status. Tap the ⊞ icon on the left to open the full filter sheet — where you can filter by status, category, city, neighbourhood, list, tag, and rating, and change the sort order.
Yes. Go to Profile → Lists & Tags, switch to the Lists or Tags tab, and use the up/down arrows on each row to reorder. The order here matches the order they appear in the filter sheet.
Yes — if your spots span multiple neighbourhoods, a Neighbourhood filter will appear in the full filter sheet. Neighbourhoods are detected automatically from Apple Maps when you save a spot.
Your Data
Everything is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your data may be included in your iCloud backup automatically.
Go to Profile → Export Data. This creates a JSON file with all your spots and visits that you can save anywhere — Files, iCloud Drive, email to yourself, etc.
Export your data from the old phone (Profile → Export Data), then import it on the new phone (Profile → Import Data). Note: importing replaces all existing data on the new device.
Go to Profile → Delete All Data. You'll be asked to confirm before anything is deleted. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
Settings
Go to Profile → Appearance → Theme. Choose Light, Dark, or System (follows your device setting).
Yes. Go to Profile → Appearance → Status Colors. You can choose from 15 curated colour options for each status (Want, Been, Love, Skip). Changes apply instantly across cards, map pins, and filter pills. Tap Reset to return to the defaults at any time.
Go to Profile → Data → Map Provider. Toggle between Apple Maps and Google Maps. Google Maps must be installed on your device for the Google Maps option to work.
Tap Profile → Send Feedback to email us directly at featherstudio@proton.me. We read every message.
