Terms of Use

Agreement

By downloading or using Cal. ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App. These terms are between you and Daren Irlen, operating as Feather Studio ("we", "us", "our").

Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Cal. on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the App Store Terms of Service.

You may not: copy, modify, or distribute the App; reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code; use the App to build a competing product; or remove any copyright or proprietary notices.

Cal. Pro subscription

Cal. Pro is a paid subscription that unlocks additional features including voice input, custom categories, and additional themes. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID via the App Store.

• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their policies.
• Free features remain available if you cancel a Pro subscription.

Your content

All events, notes, and other content you create in Cal. belong to you. We do not claim any ownership of your data. Cal. stores your content locally on your device; we do not have access to it.

You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data. Enabling Calendar sync (EventKit) backs your Cal.-created events up to your Apple Calendar, which we recommend.

Calendar access

If you enable Calendar sync, you grant Cal. permission to read from and write to your iOS calendar data via Apple's EventKit framework. Cal. only reads calendars you explicitly select and only writes to a dedicated "Cal." calendar it creates. We do not transmit your calendar data to external servers.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Cal. in any way that:

• Violates any applicable law or regulation
• Interferes with or disrupts the App or its associated services
• Attempts to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App

Disclaimer of warranties

Cal. is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

You use the App at your own risk. We strongly recommend enabling Calendar sync or maintaining independent backups of important events.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Feather Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of Cal., even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Cal. shall not exceed the amount you paid for a Cal. Pro subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £10, whichever is greater.

Third-party services

Cal. integrates with Apple's frameworks (EventKit, Speech Recognition, Notifications). Use of these frameworks is subject to Apple's own terms and privacy policies. Feather Studio is not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to Cal. at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, third parties, or the public. You may stop using Cal. at any time by deleting the App.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the effective date above. Continued use of Cal. after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
